Resource: Objective Thinking When Analyzing Film

Objective thinking consists of not being influenced by your bias personal feelings.  Thus, the goal is for you to master your skills in objective thinking when analyzing film.

The objective is for you to learn how to write a response paper that involves being unbiased in your information.  Thus, the objective is for you to  write a structured paper using terminology to support and explain the content (your response) of your paper.

TIPS:

The information that structures your paper are the topic paragraphs given to you…remember each topic/question is intended for you to support your information with  film terminology and assist you in developing your critical thinking skills

* When writing your paper, remember, look at what is being asked of you…for example

If you are writing about the theme of the film: think about what was the dominant idea throughout the story/film….what if the theme was “peace”

The next thing to think about is describing how the film/story demonstrated (through images, dialogue, visual design, characterization, etc.) “peace “throughout the story/film.

*Your mission is to write a structured paper  explaining the dominant idea (theme) in more detail (subject matter)

Continue to explain what is being asked of you…don’t forget…use the terms to support your response.

Remember, the information in your paper is clear, rational, and open-minded …….don’t forget to include your terms to support your responses….
