Remembering when analyzing art, start with the thought, what is the image communicating in terms of subject matter.

Subject matter: the meaning/expression that the images holds.   Now that you have the subject matter, think about how you going to explain the subject matter.  Explaining what your subject represents is defined as the  content.  The content explains the meaning of your subject matter.

In other words, when analyzing art, the content of your analyzation is supported by descriptive words, formal elements, and principles of design.
